It’s been a week since we left the show floor of CHA in Anaheim, and have spent our time back organizing catalogs, reviewing orders and sorting through all of the new products we discovered! It was an exciting show with some of the best products we’ve seen in the industry to date. This is always a fun time reviewing what we saw, and highlighting the trends that will be popping up on your pages as these new products arrive at Lifetime Moments. There’s been lots of talk, lots of sneak peaks – but there’s nothing like seeing and touching the products in real time. I can’t wait for you too to see and touch these new products soon. Here’s my take on the CHA trends and highlights - enjoy!
Overall themes found across the board and integrated into many of our favorite collections include (click on mfg name to see our preview photos from CHA):
- Owls - Yes, cute and adorable owls are sneaking their way into many designer products. You can spy these adorable designs at Lifetime Moments soon! Sassafras Lass and Hambly Studios integrated their version of this feathered friend into their paper and rubon designs. There will be more owl motifs to come soon!
- Brights - Brights are bolder and fresher than ever. Take part in this trend by checking out these fabulous releases: Rouge De Garance, Arctic Frog, A2Z, Autumn Leaves, Tinkering Ink, Fancy Pants, and KI Memories.
- Journaling – Lined papers, journaling spots, note worthy stamp designs – all to help us integrate our journaling into our pages in the most innovative of ways. Be sure to take note of these hot items by Gin-X, Karen Russell, Dream Street (Unique Boutique) and Heidi Swapp to make sure you’re in on this trend!
- Glitz – Glitz and glamour are still going strong. This time around, we found items that kick the glitz up a notch – such as glitter alphas by Melissa Frances, Rhinestonesz by Junkitz and Sugar Coated cardstock by Doodlebug! Others followed a more subdued approach to glamour with shimmery touches such as new metallic papers and ribbons by We R Memory Keepers, papers by SEI, chipboard alphas by Scrapworks, and new Bling colors by Bazzill.
- Black and White – stronger than ever! Everywhere we turned – black and white/cream themed designs were popping up. Luxe Designs, Karen Russell, Basic Grey (Scarlett Letter), and Polar Bear Press are just a few of our top black and white picks.
- Sew cool – Sewing and tailoring inspired products were discovered in products such as Sew It Seams papers by Mustard Moon, My Mind’s Eye buttons, Elise’s fabric items and buttons, felt trims from Queen and Co. , and epoxy stitches by Heidi Grace. This is surely a lasting trend!
- Stay Classy - classics kept our interest piqued with more elegant, vibrant and versatile designs. Daisy D, My Minds Eye, Crate Paper, Chatterbox, and Cosmo Cricket never let us down with their cutting edge designs and ingenious color combinations!
It isn’t all about the paper and embellishments though! Often underestimated in importance, tools. Generating quite a bit of excitements, we found the latest and greatest tools that are going to help you make scrapbooking easier, quicker, and just plain ole fun!
- QK Silhouette - The message boards are abuzz about the new Quickutz Silhouette – the latest in personal cutting systems. This compact cutter attaches to your personal computer and will cut any true type font you can find, and special downloads directly from Quickutz.
- Around the Block Tape Writer Kit – includes a handy gadget for creating your own personalized labels, and label colors never seen before.
- Tim Holtz Ink Pad carrying case – Two designs for this travel case. They are designed to store your ink pads in one compact place and easy to carry from crop to crop!
- Ribbon Iron by Pebbles Inc. – Amazingly priced, super compact and ingenious! A handy little tool to iron out any pesky kinks in your ribbon. A must have.
- Other tool highlights arriving at Lifetime Moments soon include the new glue gun by Fiskars, Doodlebug craft knives and cutting mats, newly colored green Crop A dile with matching carrying case, Bare Elements desk organizers and Bo Bunny Necessities sanding kit!
In our quest to find new products, we often find entirely new companies to add to Lifetime Moments shopping experience. These are just a few that caught our eye: Tinkering Ink, Rouge de Garance, Webster’s Pages, Dream Street, Luxe Designs and Magistical Memories.
