Doodlebug Pigment Inks
Pigment inks are made from 100% pigment and unlike dye-based inks, they are thicker, richer, and fade resistant. Thus, they will create bright and vivid transfers and resist fading. Pigment inks work well on a wide variety of materials including vellum, photos, even wood. To avoid smudges when using pigment inks on coated paper, embossing is recommended due to slow drying time. Now for the question on everyone’s mind. Are Doodlebug pigment inks Doodlebug colors? Doodlebug Beetle Black:
black = black Doodlebug Bon Bon:
bon bon = brown Doodlebug Lady Bug:
Ladybug = red Doodlebug Cupcake:
cupcake = pink
Doodlebug Bumble Bee:
bumblebee = yellow Doodlebug Tangerine:
tangerine = (while I would guess tangerine would be orange, this ink actually transfers a more yellow color, a bit darker than bumblebee, but more yellow than orange) While viewing ink colors online may not always accurately provide you with the color you will get with stamp transfer, the Doodlebug inks seem to be true & coordinate well with Doodlebug product lines. What you see is what you get with the exception of tangerine which produces more of a yellow tint than an orange tint. The inks worked wonderfully with both foam & clear acrylic stamps, producing full & clean images each time. I got great transfer & needed little pressure to transfer image to paper.
**Note: I did all of my testing on white cardstock. Using colored cardstock or other materials may cause color variations. For the examples I used a foam “m” and a clear acrylic heart from Ki. |
