A Note From Jackie

I'm not really sure where the time goes, but here we are and it's Thursday again! So many boxes have been arriving at LM HQ each day that we can't keep up with checking things in, putting them away and getting onto the site this week. Just when we think we're able to breathe, UPS or Fedex arrives with a dozen boxes or more! So, watch for even more fun new items over the next week.

Let's Stop For Directions

Popular scrapbook embellishments come and go. For instance, I recently purged and organized my scrap room and discovered some rather interesting pieces. Anyone remember Twistel or Sinamay? I found these long forgotten items in the bottom drawer of one of my Iris carts.

Coco Chanel once said “classic never goes out of style”. And I think this holds true in scrapbooking as well as fashion. What comes to mind when you think of scrapbook classics? Fibers have been replaced with ribbons yet buttons seem to remain a mainstay. Feathered creatures are quite popular now but will we still be seeing them this time next year? Arrow embellishments, first introduced to the scrapbooking world last year, have quickly become a scrapbooking staple. It’s too early to proclaim arrows as classics on a scrapbook page but they are certainly popular and on trend.

Arrows are a versatile embellishment in that there are many uses for them plus they come in so many different forms. I searched the Lifetime Moments Gallery to see how our very own talented members use arrows. Here are some examples:

In this layout by Malin/Lovely, the oversized arrow acts as a frame for the photos as well as repeating the steering wheel shape pictured.

Mandi/Mandipig used a die cut arrow to point to an activity in a photo which helps reinforce the reason for the title.

Samantha/Stickergirl used multiple arrows as journaling blocks while pointing the way to the subject.

On Patter/Identicaltriplets’ layout, an arrow points the way to her fun title. It also illustrates that it isn’t always necessary to dress chipboard pieces.

Sally/Scrappins4me used an arrow to continue a circle started by the buttons.

Lauren/Llaurenb uses arrows for a play on words on this very fun card.

Be sure to check out this week’s layouts from the Lifetime Moments Design Team for more ideas for using arrows on your projects.

Jackie has stocked the Lifetime Moments Store with all kinds of arrow related products, with many more of the CHA-07 releases on the way!

Scenic Route Laurel and Metropolis feature arrow designs on the patterned paper as well as die cuts.

Scribble Scrabble Dude-alls is a fun boy line that also features arrows.

Magistical Memories Arrows Chipboard is ready for you to dress the way you want.

Heidi Swapp Ghost XL Arrows were snatched up quickly but there are more on the way.

American Craft House collection includes arrows in your choice of felt, chipboard, plastic and foam.

Maya Road has included an arrow coaster set in their Motifs Coaster Chipboard and a fun Arrow Chipboard Book.

Junkitz Extreme Boy, yet another great boy collection, includes arrows Glitterz shapes.

Love, Elsie Toby (coming soon) collection features arrows on the patterned paper, epoxy and cardstock stickers and clear stamps.

Ki Memories Cool Dude Clear Stamps set includes several stamp shapes.

Keep your eye (and your finger) on the What’s New button for even more arrow related products coming soon!
