A Note From Jackie

WOW! Those of you who have taken a sneak peek into today's LM Style DT gallery know what I'm talking about! Grab your favorite beverage and sit back and enjoy the beautiful work by these talented ladies!

Here at LM Headquarters we've had a bit of a change of pace this week - everyone's kids are on Winter Break. Melissa escaped to warmer weather with hers, Miranda's been working super early hours so her boys can enjoy afternoons playing outside at home, and everyone's been bringing their kids in with them to work - they've all been so good and having fun together! If your kids were home this week too, I hope you've enjoyed the extra time with them!

And just a reminder - if you're looking for a fun scrapping challenge, please consider joining Winter Scrapfest - the 2nd term is just beginning!

Trade Secrets
When you want things done right, you do it yourself or ask a professional, right? Take a look at your professional side this month by following our design team as they explore personal topics on their past and present careers and how do document that in their Book Of Me. Also, enjoy topics such as the "Tools of the Professional Scrapbooker" to how to get those sometimes daunting professional photos integrated into your pages.

A Special Collection
By: Kate J., Design Team Member

Scrapping every day photos has become second nature to many of us scrapbookers. But what about those professional photos that quickly accumulate, and essentially have no home for safe keeping? That is, unless you brave the elements and scrapbook them. We’re often intimidated by professional photography and for one reason or another, omit them from our albums. We hope the design team has inspired you take a second look at our creative ideas to help you include these important photos into your albums as well!

For this special edition of LM Style, the design team donated layouts to the highest bidders in our recent charity auction. When one of the winners initially approached us with scrapbooking photos from a recent professional photo shoot, you could say we were a bit intimidated to accept such a challenge. More than anything else, it was an honor to scrapbook these phenomenal photos! At first glance of the photography of Pam Mayhew’s family ( molu1298), by Pam Biasotti – the design team knew we couldn’t disappoint! With permission to scrapbook these photos from the fabulous photographer, Pam Biasotti , we quickly accepted this exciting project! Take inspiration from this collection of layouts. We hope to motivate and erase any fears of scrapbooking professional photos for your personal albums.

Gallery Picks of the Week

By: Jackie Bogert and the LM Design Team

I am constantly impressed by lazyfroggirl's very honest and raw
documentation of her brother's illness and thankfully also his recovery. This layout has beautiful colors, and the title looks great.

The colors and the patterned paper mix of Chicknlttl's layout are wonderful. They are very much "zoo" and the added mosaic tiles finishes the layout beautifully. The mixed title looks terrific.

This layout by Ol Skool Scrapper is really artistic and funky. All the different elements and effects give me a sense that I am looking at a large scale canvas rather than a layout - and I love it.
