30 Days of Gifts - DAY 17:

Barbie Gift Holder

by Melissa Zeno, LM Staff

Barbie Gift Holder

Supplies

Instructions
(Note: if you have the time and patience you can paint the entire container with a coordinating color so you do not have white edges – I did not do this)

  1. Cut one piece of 12 x 12 paper in half.  Spray adhesive all over the outer part of the wine container.  Position each piece of paper so that the 12” edge is on the outer crease of the wine container (on the backside, not the opening).
  2. Cut two 2” x 12” pieces of coordinating paper to cover the remaining outside area near the opening of the container.
  3. Wrap a small piece of the paper on the inside of the container, making sure to leave enough to cover all of the remaining outer area.
  4. Cut two thin strips of white cardstock using decorative scissors.  Attach.
  5. Cut four ½” x 12” strips to cover the top and bottom of the outside of the container.  Cut them to fit.  Attach.
  6. Trace the top and bottom of the container onto desired paper.  Cut circles out.  Use the open container as a guide to get the curved guideline to cut.  Cut along the curves to get exact pieces to fit.  Attach.
  7. Right Inner Side - Cut two 6 ½” x 6” pieces of cardstock.  Attach (using spray adhesive – you may want to spray the paper instead of the container this time) to inside of container placing the edges all the way to the top and bottom of the container (leaving a gap in the middle that will be covered later).
  8. Cut a 6 ½” x 1” piece of paper to cover the gap that was left from step 6.  Cut a piece of ribbon 6 ½” long to use as a decoration.  Attach.
  9. Use the bottom of the container as a guide to cut out a piece of paper for the bottom of the inside of the container.  Attach.
  10. Left Inner Side - Cut a 6 ½” x 8 ½” (the actual measurement is just a tad bigger than this – you may want to do your own measurement) piece of patterned paper to go on the other side of the inside of the container.  Attach.
  11. Cut a piece of ribbon to add as a decoration.
  12. Cut a 7” x 4” piece of cardstock for the lower area of the left side.  Attach.
  13. Cut a small strip of cardstock with decorative edge scissors to create a pretty border.  Attach.
  14. Use KI Color Lab rhinestones to decorate.
  15. Use KI Essentials Stickers around the holes for the ribbon.
  16. Add KI Ribbon to use to tie the container closed.
  17. Poke holes in the top and bottom of the container to create a carrying strap.  Add KI Essentials Stickers around the holes.  Add ribbon to use as the strap.
  18. Add KI Cookie Cutter Cardstock Stickers and KI Color Lab rhinestones to the outside.
