30 Days of Gifts - DAY 11:

CD Case Calendar

by Margaret Winters,LM Design Team

Are you looking for an easy keepsake gift idea for someone special this holiday season?   Well look no further...this is it!  This cd case calendar took me approximately one hour to make from start to finish.

Supplies:
  • an empty clear cd case
  • 3 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 white cardstock (you will be able to cut all six cards from these sheets by using the clear cd case as your guide so they will fit inside the cd case)
  • one sheet each of the 12 Creative Imaginations Calendar Collection patterned papers (cut a little bit smaller than the white cardstock cards to adhere on top for each month)
  • 2007 mini month calendars (I printed mine from my Create A Card cd- maybe something similar can be found somewhere on the internet)
  • 12 different photos (cropped to wallet size)
  • magnets for the back of the project ( I used heavy duty ones that I had to super glue on)
  • paper trimmer and adhesive

January is on the top of the first card and July is on the back of the January card. February is the next card with August on the back of it, and so on.  There is only room enough in the cd case for the six double sided cards so unfortunately there is no room for lumpy embellishments.  Though, stickers and stamps would be a non-lumpy addition if you would like to add a little more to each card.  I adhered my calendars and photos in different places on each month so the name of the month on each of the patterned papers would be visible.
After completing both sides of all six cards, place them in the cd with the back of the cd being the front of the project.  Then adhere the magnets to the back of the project which is the cover of the cd case (the little open space of the cd should be at the bottom of the back of the project).
