Valentine’s Gift Wine Holder by Nancy Thomas
I made this as a Valentine’s day gift for my son and new daughter-in-law which will include a bottle of their favorite wine. This will be their first Valentine’s Day as a married couple and I want it to be special for them. As an added bonus, it also matches their kitchen.

Valentine Gift Holder by Melissa Thigpen
Decorate this ingenious Bare Elements Wine Container with flowers and fill it with a lovely romantic surprise for your sweetheart. When the container is opened a beautiful bouquet of flowers fairly spills out.
Supplies: Bare Elements Rick Wine Container, Technique Tuesday Loves Me, Loves Me Not, Fancy Pants, Mulberry Road collection, English Rose and Emma’s Garden, Making Memories paints, Making Memories foam stamps, Fancy Pants Clair de Lune Titles and Tags, Golden Gel Medium, ribbon.
- Remove ribbons and then paint the BE Rick Wine Container with your chosen background color. I used a combination of spring green and tan with some Golden gel medium. It came out looking a lot more yellow than I had intended, but it works. Let dry.
- Stamp the background with a slightly lighter (or darker) version of your background color for a subtle pattern if desired. Let dry.
- Stamp your patterned paper selections with the Technique Tuesday Loves Me, Loves Me Not stamps and cut out the petals and centers.
- Arrange your flowers and adhere to the surface of the wine container using gel medium or Mod-Podge. Allow the flower petals to extend to the top of the container, trimming as needed to make them lie flat. Trim pieces that extend beyond the bottom of the container. Let dry.
- Cut any flower petals that are adhered over your opening edges with a sharp X-acto knife. Trim and smooth these cut edges as needed.
- Replace the original black ribbon with the ribbon of your choice. Knot the end of the ribbon and slide it through the holes.
- Choose a die cut tag and embellishment and fasten it to the ribbon bow. I used an old Junkitz Loose Leaf ring but a ball chain, ribbon or other fastener will work as well.
- Trim a small bunch of flowers, tie with a ribbon and set in a small vase or glass so that the whole thing fits into the wine container. Stuff the space around your vase so that it stays secure and carefully close the container around the flowers.
