Bare Elements altered frame by Melissa Thigpen
These Bare Elements items have such a nice surface making them quick and easy to alter. I was able to finish this project in no time.
Supplies: Creative Imaginations Bare Elements frame, Making Memories paint (Strawberries & Cream), Lil' Davis Designs Glitter Garden paper (Vanilla Dot), Fancy Pants Mulberry Road collection (Emma's Garden), Making Memories Floral/Dingbat foam stamps, Lil' Davis Tinsel Town alphabet, Prima Got Flowers, super fine glitter, flower ribbon trim, rhinestones.
- Slip a piece of scrap paper into the frame opening to protect it from the paint.
- Paint all of the edges of the frame.
- Cut the paper to fit the surface of the frame leaving approximately 1/8 of an inch of painted edge showing. Measure and cut the window for the frame opening (I drew pencil lines and used scissors to cut the opening. It doesn't have to be perfect, as the edges will be covered by the flower trim later.
- Spray adhesive on the back of your paper (do this outside!) and adhere it to the frame.
- Stamp the reverse of the paper with scrolls using the same paint you used to paint the edges of the frame. Sprinkle glitter over the wet paint. Let dry and cut out.
- Spray adhesive on the back of your stamped pieces and adhere them to the desired locations on your frame.
- Apply glue lines around the edge of the frame opening and adhere the flower trim to the edge.
- Cut a circle from a coordinating patterned paper large enough to frame your monogram letter.
- Embellish monogram with flowers and rhinestones.
- Adhere letter to paper circle with glue dots.
- Adhere circle to frame with pop dots.
Love Frame by Miranda Isenberg
- Take the glass out of the frame and trace the entire thing (empty frame window included) onto the backside of three coordinating sheets of paper.
- Use a ruler to divide each paper into six sections (using the window as *center*).
- Cut out only the sections needed from each piece.
- Mod Podge each section, one at a time, onto the frame. Once dry mod podge again over the entire thing.
- Sand all edges along the outside of the frame and the inside of the window.
- Use Heidi Swapp bling borders to cover the seams between each of the patterns (hides imperfections).
- Cover Basic Grey chipboard mini monogram letters with matching punch out letters.
- Add coordinating stickers to finish title.
- Add Heidi Grace glitter shapes to accent.
