Maya Road Treasure Box Gift

For this project I decorated a gift box that can then be used later as a treasure box for little keepsakes. I filled this with candy (it is what I had on hand), but when I actually give it, it will contain small gifts as well as candy. After the holiday my daughter can use it to hold her jewelry and other small trinkets.

I started by measuring sections I wanted to cover with paper, making note of it and setting the measurements aside.

I then painted the treasure box. While the paint was drying, I took my measurements and cut my patterned papers to those specifications.

I then took Mod Podge and glued on my papers.

Once everything was dry, on the outside, I went along the edge of the window to the box with glitter, using coordinating letter stickers I wrote my daughters name and embellished with a heart & crown.

I further embellished using a Basic Grey bookplate, which I tied ribbon onto & secured to the box using glue. I then added some Basic Grey rub-ons to 2 opposite corners.

Once done with decorating I used 4 cupcake liners, placed them in the box & filled with goodies.
